The 2026 Never Summer Valhalla is a powerful new freeride board, with a stiff flex and the a profile that will let you push your riding to the limits. The new Triple Camber Hybrid gives you all the pop and edge hold in even the iciest conditions, and the tip to tail Recluse Carbon Web gives the board a very responsive feel. The set back stance, with bat tail and 7mm of taper make light work of deep powder, so you can focus on what is coming up next instead of working to keep your board afloat.
For experienced freeriders, the Valhalla has the shape and features to handle the gnarliest terrain that you can find.
Board Type: Freeride-Powder
Freeride snowboards are built for steeper, off-piste terrain. These boards are ideal for aggressive riding and usually for more advanced riders.
Powder snowboards are designed for deep snow. Generally these boards feature a directional shape with a tapered tail for better float and ease of riding.
Flex: 8.5/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)
Stiff snowboards are precise, responsive, and built for advanced riders tackling high speeds, steep terrain, or icy conditions. They deliver powerful turns, excellent edge hold, and enhanced stability, especially during aggressive riding.
Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
Intermediate snowboards offer more responsiveness and stability at higher speeds, with a slightly stiffer flex for better control on varied terrain and more advanced manoeuvres.
Advanced snowboards are stiffer and more responsive, designed for high-speed control, precision riding, and handling challenging terrain or tricks.
Shape: Tapered Directional
A tapered directional snowboard features a shape where the tail is narrower than the nose, providing enhanced control and stability in deeper snow. This design improves floatation in powder and allows for smoother turns, making it ideal for freeride and backcountry riding. While it excels in one direction, the taper helps the board naturally guide you through challenging conditions.
Camber Type: Triple Camber Hybrid with R.I.P. Edge Hold Technology
Triple Camber Hybrid has an overall central rocker shape while featuring a camber zone in between this central rocker, creating two high-pressure rocker sections on each side of a middle camber. Triple Camber Hybrid increases edge efficiency, with the primary edge hold starting at the board’s center. It provides outstanding responsiveness, stability, and complements the high-performance engagement of the two cambered zones beneath your feet. The overall rocker shape preserves effortless float, a playful and forgiving ride, incredible edge hold, explosive pop, and remarkable butterability.
R.I.P. Edge Hold Technology offers unmatched versatility, providing effortless glide in powder and response all over the mountain while delivering precision for deep carves. It boosts edge performance for maximum stability and control in any condition, with easy edge tunes. Unlike traditional serrated edges, R.I.P. integrates waves into the base, creating high-pressure points for smooth, drag-free rides and consistent pressure on edge, ensuring a balanced, confident ride.
Width: Mid-Wide
Mid-wide boards offer slightly increased width, reducing toe and heel drag, enhancing flotation, and boosting confidence when leaning into powerful carves.
Sidecut: Power Grip Sidecut
The Power Grip Sidecut features a combination of multiple radii to create additional contact points along the edge, improving edge grip. A flat section in the middle area forms a wide contact point when the board is flexed, while allowing it to remain stable and avoid catching when unbent. Two shallow radii on either side of the flat section add extra contact points, while deeper radii near the tips of the board enable quick turn initiation and provide the final contact points.
Inserts: 2x4 Inserts
These offer a tighter hole pattern, allowing for more precise stance adjustments. They're common on modern boards and ideal for riders who want fine-tuned positioning and can be used with any binding with a standard or mini disk.
Board Construction
Topsheet: Co-Extruded Polymer Topsheet
The Co-Extruded Polymer Topsheet is made from a tough, lightweight thermoplastic with a fiber backing, offering resistance to scratches and chips. These topsheets stand out for their vivid colors and enhanced grip, serving as a built-in stomp pad for added control while unstrapped.
Laminate: Bi-Lite Fiberglass, Full Recluse Carbon Web Layup, STS Pre-Tensioned Fiberglass
Bi-Lite Fiberglass is a lightweight glass fiber matrix, offering outstanding freestyle and freeride performance without compromising durability.
The Recluse Carbon Web Technology maintains the board’s flex integrity over time while delivering powerful snap in and out of turns by integrating carbon fiber at 20-degree angles to improve torsional stability, increase edge hold pressure, and enhance longitudinal rebound for a more responsive ride.
STS Pre-Tensioned Fiberglass is a strong, layered material designed for durability and performance. It features elastomer stringers placed between the glass fibers to improve strength and edge hold. This advanced bonding technique makes our snowboards more durable and responsive. Similar fiberglass is also used in bows because of its ability to flex and snap back with great force, launching arrows at high speeds without breaking.
Core: NS SuperLight Wood Core, Triple Layer RDS 2 Damping with Underfoot Stabiliser
The NS SuperLight Wood Core is crafted from a unique combination of Poplar, Paulownia, and Birch and is engineered to provide a lightweight yet sturdy core designed for a universal flex to enhance performance, delivering unmatched handling on the mountain.
RDS 2 strikes the perfect balance between freeride stability and freestyle responsiveness. It provides more damping than a typical freestyle board for better control at high speeds, yet slightly less than a dedicated freeride board to maintain a lively, poppy feel. This design ensures an optimal blend of vibration absorption and energetic performance.
Elastomeric Underfoot Stabilisers are positioned beneath the mounting area to maximise shock and vibration absorption, enhancing stability at high speeds and extra cushioning to minimise foot fatigue for a more comfortable ride.
Sidewall: UHMW Sidewalls
The use of UHMW Sidewalls (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) is essential in preserving the life of your snowboard. Unlike ABS sidewalls, UHMW are more resistant to cracking in colder temperatures. They also improve damping performance around the metal edges, providing a smoother ride.
Edge: Fullwrap Metal Edge with Aluminium Tail
Base: Durasurf XT Sintered 5501 Base
The Durasurf XT Sintered 5501 Base is an exclusive, high performance sintered base and is infused with the ideal amount of graphite, making it one of the fastest and most durable P-Tex bases available on the market.
