The 2026 Never Summer Men's Llama is a brand new board for 2026 named after Never Summer’s original team rider, Eric "The Llama" Segris, and featuring artwork by the legendary Jimbo Phillips.
This asymmetrical twin is built for freestyle and all-mountain performance, with a softer-than-mid flex and Recurve Traditional Camber, it delivers powerful pop, smooth carves, and a locked-in feel for ultimate control. Constructed with a co-extruded polymer topsheet, STS pre-tensioned fiberglass, Bi-Lite fiberglass, and a SuperLight wood core, it offers a perfect balance of strength and lightweight performance. The FDS damping system enhances stability, while the sintered UHMW polyethylene sidewall and Durasurf XT Sintered 5501 base provide exceptional speed and durability.
Board Type: Freestyle-All Mountain
Freestyle snowboards are built for park riders and those who love performing tricks on jumps, rails, and side hits.
All Mountain snowboards are versatile boards that excel across various terrains, from groomed runs to off-piste. These boards offer solid edge control and responsiveness, making them a great option for riders who want one board to do just about everything.
Flex: 4/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)
Offering a balanced blend of flexibility and stiffness, mid-flex boards are versatile and suitable for all-mountain riding. They provide enough responsiveness for carving while maintaining some forgiveness for playful or casual riding.
Ability Level: Intermediate
Intermediate snowboards offer more responsiveness and stability at higher speeds, with a slightly stiffer flex for better control on varied terrain and more advanced manoeuvres.
Shape: Asym Twin
Exactly the same whether you're riding switch or regular, this allows you to push your switch riding and land comfortably regardless of which way you're facing. While the asymmetrical shape gives you a tighter radius on your heel side, making it easier to turn on your heels.
Camber Type: Triple Camber Recurve with R.I.P. Edge Hold Technology
Triple Camber Recurve blends Triple Camber with a traditional camber arch, this profile creates an overall cambered shape which is incredibly dynamic and powerful and excels across all mountain terrain, performing exceptionally in various snow conditions.
R.I.P. Edge Hold Technology offers unmatched versatility, providing effortless glide in powder and response all over the mountain while delivering precision for deep carves. It boosts edge performance for maximum stability and control in any condition, with easy edge tunes. Unlike traditional serrated edges, R.I.P. integrates waves into the base, creating high-pressure points for smooth, drag-free rides and consistent pressure on edge, ensuring a balanced, confident ride.
Width: Standard, Wide
Standard width boards deliver exceptional edge-to-edge quickness and responsiveness while providing enough platform space for riders with average boot sizes.
Wide boards are for those with large boot sizes and provide extra flotation, reduced drag, and never feel clunky or cumbersome underfoot.
Sidecut: Power Grip Sidecut
The Power Grip Sidecut features a combination of multiple radii to create additional contact points along the edge, improving edge grip. A flat section in the middle area forms a wide contact point when the board is flexed, while allowing it to remain stable and avoid catching when unbent. Two shallow radii on either side of the flat section add extra contact points, while deeper radii near the tips of the board enable quick turn initiation and provide the final contact points.
Inserts: 2x4 Inserts
These offer a tighter hole pattern, allowing for more precise stance adjustments. They're common on modern boards and ideal for riders who want fine-tuned positioning and can be used with any binding with a standard or mini disk.
Board Construction
Topsheet: Co-Extruded Polymer Topsheet
The Co-Extruded Polymer Topsheet is made from a tough, lightweight thermoplastic with a fiber backing, offering resistance to scratches and chips. These topsheets stand out for their vivid colors and enhanced grip, serving as a built-in stomp pad for added control while unstrapped.
Laminate: Bi-Lite Fiberglass, Carbon VXR Laminate, STS Pre-Tensioned Fiberglass
Bi-Lite Fiberglass is a lightweight glass fiber matrix, offering outstanding freestyle and freeride performance without compromising durability.
Carbon VXR uses carbon fiber V’s extending from the inserts to the effective edge, enhancing response and stiffening the board torsionally. These V’s start at the binding zones and engage the edge for quick reaction, while also extending to the board's tips for added boost and pop. This design transfers energy to the tip and tail while maintaining a softer, more forgiving mid-flex for improved torsional control.
STS Pre-Tensioned Fiberglass is a strong, layered material designed for durability and performance. It features elastomer stringers placed between the glass fibers to improve strength and edge hold. This advanced bonding technique makes our snowboards more durable and responsive. Similar fiberglass is also used in bows because of its ability to flex and snap back with great force, launching arrows at high speeds without breaking.
Core: NS SuperLight Wood Core with Press Flex Taper, Triple Layer FDS Damping with Underfoot Stabiliser, Harmonic Damping Tip/Tail Protection
The NS SuperLight Wood Core is crafted from a unique combination of Poplar, Paulownia, and Birch and is engineered to provide a lightweight yet sturdy core designed for a universal flex to enhance performance, delivering unmatched handling on the mountain.
Press Flex Taper is designed with a custom CNC-sanded wood core profile that creates two distinct flex zones between the bindings. These zones allow for torsional flex, giving riders enhanced control and responsiveness. Engineered for smooth response at slower speeds, it provides a playful feel ideal for buttering, pressing, and jibbing. These flex points help lock in presses and flat-ground tricks, making the Press Flex Taper the ultimate choice for freestyle performance.
Freestyle Damping System utilises a slimmer elastomeric rubber foil to minimise weight while enhancing responsiveness, made for peak freestyle performance. This design ensures a crisp, energetic feel underfoot, perfect for boards built to catch air without being weighed down by excessive dampening. FDS delivers a lively ride while preserving the smooth, renowned performance Never Summer is known for.
Elastomeric Underfoot Stabilisers are positioned beneath the mounting area to maximise shock and vibration absorption, enhancing stability at high speeds and extra cushioning to minimise foot fatigue for a more comfortable ride.
Harmonic Dampers in the tip and tail significantly reduce residual vibrations, keeping the nose and tail stable. This improves control at high speeds, through variable snow conditions, and on landings—all while preserving the board’s lively feel and maintaining the energetic pop of the cambered zones.
Sidewall: UHMW Sidewalls
The use of UHMW Sidewalls (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) is essential in preserving the life of your snowboard. Unlike ABS sidewalls, UHMW are more resistant to cracking in colder temperatures. They also improve damping performance around the metal edges, providing a smoother ride.
Edge: Fullwrap Metal Edge
Base: Durasurf XT Sintered 5501 Base
The Durasurf XT Sintered 5501 Base is an exclusive, high performance sintered base and is infused with the ideal amount of graphite, making it one of the fastest and most durable P-Tex bases available on the market.
