The 2023 Capita Mega Mercury Snowboard is the pinnacle in versatility, being the ultimate snowboard for powder, freeriding, and powerful in-resort performance. Inspired by the groundbreaking Mercury snowboard, the Mega Merc takes the proven construction and ability of the Mercury and upgrades it with space-age tech you won't find on any other snowboard. Boasting a brand new, unique 3D Thermopolymer Starship Core with ultralight recycled plastics, an array of Megacarbon tape, and a Megalite topsheet that is barely there but as strong as ever, the Mega Merc is one of the most advanced, most versatile, and most premium boards to hit the snow. If you ride anything and everything, and do it with power and precision, you can trust the Mega Merc to deliver power when you want it, float when you need it, and a game-changing experience all over the mountain.
Rider Type: Resort
Camber Type: Resort V2 Profile
The Resort V2 Profile gives you the best of both worlds. Raised camber through the inserts to retain high speed edge hold, rocker at the contact points to reduce catch and enhance float in powder, and flat kick tip and tail for faster, more aggressive transitions.
Flex: 6.5/10 (Mid/Stiff)
Stiff enough to plow through the powder and hold a strong edge, but soft enough to be forgiving when you need it.
Shape: Directional
This board has a setback stance and slightly directional shape, giving you better control going forwards but still allowing you to ride switch with ease.
New Age Progressive
This board features a progressive sidecut which incorporates a reverse sidecut arc in the middle of the board. Due to a reduced effective edge as a result of hybrid camber shapes, this reverse camber arc adds an additional point of contact in the centre of the board (aka Death Grip), allowing you to retain better control through turns.
Core: FSC Certified 3D Thermopolymer Starship Core
The FSC Certified 3D Thermopolymer Starship Core sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, and it practically is. More than just a mouthful, this core is made using an advanced electronic sorting system to select mega-premium poplar wood graded by weight and grain consistency, which is then combined with bonded post-consumer recycled Thermopolymer channels to form an advanced hybrid core that is unlike anything else you'll see on snow.
Megacarbon Array - Mega-wide carbon tape is laid on both the top and the bottom of the woodcore, providing four times the power and response of previous carbon additives.
HolySheet Triax/Triax Fibreglass + Magic Bean Resin - HolySheet glass has a higher glass to weight ratio than normal fibreglass, giving you more stiffness with lower weight than a traditional layup. This is impregnated with a high performance, environmentally responsible, plant based resin that provides a powerful and dynamic ride that's better for the planet.
Base: Hyperdrive Base
This exclusively formulated sintered base is designed for the most depraved speed junkies, bar none. Ultra high molecular weight, ultra high density polyethylene, custom engineered with super secret special additives. That's a one way ticket to a face meltingly fast ride.
Additional Features:
Megalite Skin Topsheet - This super thin and durable topsheet material provides a 60% weight reduction over a standard Capita topsheet.
Moonshot Omni-Tune - Capita have taken it a step further and given this base a stone grind structure which helps it glide over snow with minimal resistance that is optimised for both regular and switch riding.
