The 2026 CAPiTA Mega Death can be thought as the bigger, better, and more menacing brother of the fan favourite Black Snowboard of Death. This high end board boasts some of the best tech in the CAPiTA line for a truely unique, ultralight and powerful freeride machine. By taking specific aspects from other high end boards in the CAPiTA range, you get the Thermopolymer Starship Core, Pure Megacarbon glass and resin, coupled wth the Alpine V1 camber profile, giving you lightweight, responsive ride and the all new Megadrive Base with Moonshot Omni-Tune for one of the fastest rides on the market. With an ultra clean graphic and all the tech you could ever want, the Mega Death isn't for the faint of heart and will take no prisoners as you tear up the mountain this season.
Board Type: All Mountain-Freeride
All Mountain snowboards are versatile boards that excel across various terrains, from groomed runs to off-piste. These boards offer solid edge control and responsiveness, making them a great option for riders who want one board to do just about everything.
Freeride snowboards are built for steeper, off-piste terrain. These boards are ideal for aggressive riding and usually for more advanced riders.
Flex: 7/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)
Offering a balanced blend of flexibility and stiffness, mid-flex boards are versatile and suitable for all-mountain riding. They provide enough responsiveness for carving while maintaining some forgiveness for playful or casual riding.

Advanced snowboards are stiffer and more responsive, designed for high-speed control, precision riding, and handling challenging terrain or tricks.
Shape: Directional
A directional snowboard has a shape designed for riding primarily in one direction, with a longer nose and a shorter, more compact tail. CAPiTA's Alpine V1 Directional + Flat Kick Tech profile incorporates mid-body camber, a flat tail, and a reverse cambered nose. This combination offers enhanced pop and stability on hard pack while boosting float and landing power, optimizing performance in deep snow. The camber extends further in the tail, delivering additional power for uphill climbs or for larger riders seeking a dedicated wide series.
Sidecut: New Age Progressive + Death Grip
CAPiTA's New Age Progressive + Death Grip sidecut delivers optimal control and performance. The Progressive sidecut blends two or more radii to accommodate the three stages of a turn, ensuring smooth initiation, enhanced control, and maximum power when exiting. Meanwhile, the Death Grip features a reverse sidecut arc in the board’s midsection, providing a contact point for pressure application and consistent control throughout the turn, making it ideal for both freestyle and freeride riding.
Width: Standard, Wide
Standard width boards deliver exceptional edge-to-edge quickness and responsiveness while providing enough platform space for riders with average boot sizes.
Wide boards are for those with large boot sizes and provide extra flotation, reduced drag, and never feel clunky or cumbersome underfoot.

Topsheet: Screen Print with Metallic Underlay
CAPiTA creates their incredibly detailed and vibrant topsheet designs using a combination of digital and hand screen printing methods. Their PAM16000 Printing technology utilises 16,000 individual inkjet nozzles to produce flawless digital graphics with solventless, water-based UV ink—delivering exceptional accuracy, quality, and speed. Additionally, every CAPiTA topsheet includes a portion that is silkscreened through a hand screen printing process, adding unique texture and depth to the final design.
Laminate: Pure Megacarbon with Marine Grade Epoxy Resin
Carbon fiber is known for its strength, lightness, and heat resistance. CAPiTA customises its properties, amount, and location in the board to boost power and responsiveness while maintaining an ultra-lightweight design. Pure MegaCarbon is a full-length sheet of carbon layered above and below the core from tip to tail.
Core: Thermopolymer Starship Core
CAPiTA's Thermopolymer Starship Core is made of a mega-premium, reforestation-certified Poplar, which is graded for weight and grain consistency. By having a strength-to-weight ratio similar to Paulownia, this core preserves the lively "poppiness" of Poplar and reaches high level performance level by incorporating bonded post-consumer recycled Thermopolymer channels, creating an advanced hybrid core offering unparalled performance.
Base: Megadrive XT Base with Moonshot Omni-Tune, Inlaid Alloy Skid Plates, Die-Cut Base
Using the most advanced and premium base materials, the Megadrive XT base is a pure sintered race base made of UHMW polyethelene with carbon content and fluro additions for the fastest base CAPiTA can make. This base is extra thick for enhanced durability.
The Moonshot Omni-Tune is a high-performance race-base structure designed to channel water away at a 45-degree angle, delivering seriously fast rides—whether you're charging to the lift or racing to the finish line.
Reinforced with an ultralight skid plate, refined and reshaped to shave weight and protect the tail of the snowboard.
CAPiTA uses advanced laser-guided die-cutting technology to ensure razor-sharp edges and exceptionally bold, vibrant colors for their bases.

We are a local, independently owned store and do not offer ‘change of mind’ refunds for returned items (this includes incorrect sizing), however we're happy to offer you a store credit or exchange subject to the following conditions:
Store credits, lasting up to 3 years, will be issued for the amount paid at time of purchase for the particular item being returned. They are issued via email in which you'll receive a 16 digit code that you can use at checkout online or in store.
Unfortunately stock levels vary and we are not able to stock all products in all sizes, which may result in your desired exchange product or size not being available. In the event that your desired exchange product is not in stock, a store credit will be issued.
Should you not want a credit or exchange, in extenuating circumstances Melbourne Snowboard Centre may issue a refund minus a 20% restocking fee.
If your return is time sensitive, our regular returns policy applies and no refunds will be given if you purchase new items prior to returning original items.

When returning, please ensure you take care to protect the item and its original packaging. Damaged packaging or damaged products may result in a reduction in your credit, or a refusal of your return. Refused returns incur a minimum $10 return shipping fee (more for bulky items).

If you have received a faulty product or you feel the product you have been using is eligible for a warranty evaluation by the manufacturer due to defect in its materials or workmanship, contact us and we can walk you through the appropriate steps to lodge a warranty claim. Please include photos of the item and issue so we can expedite the process. Find out more on our warranty page.
If you have received a damaged product (eg. damaged in transit), please send photos and a description of the damage within 7 days of receipt to web@melbournesnowboard.com.au, along with your order number and contact details. Damaged product claims do not apply after the item has been used.
Our packages are discounted to help you get on snow at a reasonable price. Due to this, if you get the wrong size we are happy to offer an exchange in size of the same product, but we do not accept returns for individual package items. If you would like to return one or more items in a package but not all items, you must return the entire package and re-purchase the remaining item at its advertised price.
