The 2026 Bataleon The Surfer boasts Bataleon's most advanced 3D shaping to date and craves the deepest of days and will give you the best powder turns and the most effortless float of your life. Even after you've tracked out all the powder, put The Surfer on edge on hardpack and it'll carve up a storm thanks to its aggressive sidecut. If you've only been riding flat based boards in powder you haven't experienced anything like this, so do yourself a favour and change your perception of what a powder board truly is. Rob a bank if you must because this is what snowboarding dreams are made of.
Board Type: Powder
Powder snowboards are designed for deep snow. Generally these boards feature a directional shape with a tapered tail for better float and ease of riding.
Flex: 4/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)
Offering a balanced blend of flexibility and stiffness, mid-flex boards are versatile and suitable for all-mountain riding. They provide enough responsiveness for carving while maintaining some forgiveness for playful or casual riding.
Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
Offering a balanced blend of flexibility and stiffness, mid-flex boards are versatile and suitable for all-mountain riding. They provide enough responsiveness for carving while maintaining some forgiveness for playful or casual riding.
Advanced snowboards are stiffer and more responsive, designed for high-speed control, precision riding, and handling challenging terrain or tricks.
Shape: Tapered Directional
A tapered directional snowboard features a shape where the tail is narrower than the nose, providing enhanced control and stability in deeper snow. This design improves floatation in powder and allows for smoother turns, making it ideal for freeride and backcountry riding. While it excels in one direction, the taper helps the board naturally guide you through challenging conditions.
Camber Type: Medium Camber with 3BT and Sidekick, High Nose Sidebase Uplift and Low Tail Sidebase Uplift

Bataleon's camber profiles vary from low to high, each influencing the board’s overall feel and performance. High camber creates a more energetic and responsive ride, demanding an aggressive approach to fully harness its power and excel in precision, pop, and edge hold but require skill to control. Low camber provides a smoother, more forgiving experience, making turns effortless and enhancing float in powder, especially at lower speeds. While Medium camber is the perfect combination of both. No matter the level, all camber profiles extend from nose to tail. However, higher doesn’t always mean better—choosing the right camber depends on your riding style, skill level, and preferred terrain.

Every Bataleon snowboard is built on the seamless integration of Triple Base Technology (3BT) and positive camber—an advanced design that significantly reduces the risk of edge-catch while maintaining explosive ollie power and precise carving control. This foundation serves as the starting point, allowing them to adjust each element to perfectly complement the board’s intended riding style, ensuring optimal performance across all terrains and conditions.
SideKick takes the Triple Base concept to the next level by amplifying sidebase uplift just beyond the widest points of the nose and tail. This innovative design gives the tips a hull-like shape, dramatically enhancing float in deep snow while effortlessly slicing through rough, uneven terrain. By elevating the edges, it also improves turn initiation, making edge-to-edge transitions smoother, faster, and more controlled for a responsive and confidence-inspiring ride in all conditions.

Sidebase uplift in the nose of the snowboard varies from Low, Medium, and High and influences how the board performs edge to edge and how it floats in powder.
Sidebase uplift in the tail of the snowboard varies from Low, Medium, and High and influences how the board behaves while riding. It accentuates the 3BT within the board, making them even more versatile.
Width: Standard
Standard width boards deliver exceptional edge-to-edge quickness and responsiveness while providing enough platform space for riders with average boot sizes.
Inserts: 2x4 Inserts
These offer a tighter hole pattern, allowing for more precise stance adjustments. They're common on modern boards and ideal for riders who want fine-tuned positioning and can be used with any binding with a standard or mini disk.
Board Construction
Topsheet: Step Down Rails Top 3D Topsheet
This topsheet 3D effect incorporates a subtle taper along the top of the sidewall, which narrows the top profile. This design not only reduces weight but also enhances the precision of your carves.
Laminate: Tri-Ax, Carbon Stringers, D.R.S.T. SuperTubes
Tri-Axial fiberglass is engineered for maximum strength, minimal weight, and exceptional responsiveness. This high-performance weave enhances the flex profile, providing extra reinforcement for our more aggressive boards, ensuring precision and control at high speeds.
Additional carbon layups are strategically placed to fine-tune the flex, response, and overall feel of each board, ensuring optimal performance tailored to its design.
SuperTubes are lightweight, hollow carbon cylinders embedded directly into the core to enhance camber, reduce weight, and dramatically increase pop. Their strategic placement allows for precise tuning of a board’s performance. Dual Radial SuperTubes, D.R.S.T., have six total SuperTubes running along the boards sidecut radius. This is to increase power and response to the edges.
Core: Super Ultra Light Core
For excellent strength to weight ratio, this core has a 1:2 blend of Poplar and Paulownia.
Sidewall: Flex Walls
By using Urethane sidewalls instead of standard ABS, you get a sidewall that bonds the sidewall to the core more effectively creating a more durable and damp construction.
Base: Nano Speed S Base
The Nano Speed S base is the fastest sintered base in the rage, made of race-grade ISOSPORT 7000 P-tex.
Additional Features:
Building on the classic swallow tail design, the Powder Hull incorporates a unique "snow exhaust" effect that amplifies the benefits of the traditional tail shape. This innovative feature directs extra power and drive to the rear of the board, improving control and speed in deep snow. It also boosts floatation, making it easier to navigate through powder with enhanced stability and overall performance.
