Just back from Japan with this bag with LOTS of stuff inside, packed to the limit, nearly 30 kgs, multiple flights, transfers and rolls. In other words it took a beating. But it held up reasonably well considering. Zips seem bullet proof (like all zips, take your time, never force them.) Wheels went well.
Outside cover suffered a cut on its bottom during first transit, but thankfully the tear didn't spread during the month. And no other cuts during the month, so guess I was very unlucky with that.
Inside held up well, however the lining at the bottom (see photo 1) couldn't handle the sharp edge of the board and has torn already (all other areas fine). That’s a design fail to me. Im disappointed. Material should be tough enough to handle a strapped-down board. Im going to have to get something from Bunnings to line the bottom edge of the board next time (maybe top edge too), so the damage doesn't spread. (FYI I used the foam edge covers that came with the packaging (see photo 2), but thats not enough - it went through that). Are my expectations too high?
Overall, glad I had it, made travel life easier but new owners should maybe take some steps to prevent inside damage. (also met a couple who had 2 bags the exact same, lots of OS trips, they seemed happy with theirs)
