The 2026 CAPiTA Mercury is back and ready to be your daily driver to all things snowboarding. Known for its all mountain versatility and incredible power underfoot, it is no wonder why CAPiTA team rider and style master Kevin Backstrom makes it his board of choice every year. You can be sure to have complete control over your snowboard in any condition, whether it's hitting natural kickers on resort to floating effortlessly in powder. Taking a revolutionary freeride camber profile and applying it to a super lightweight and high performance core, along with engineered carbon and environmentally responsible construction, CAPiTA have created a snowboard that will take you to new planets while still looking after ours. The snowboarding universe is ever-changing and the limits are always being pushed, so CAPiTA have developed a board that will break the surly bonds of gravity, destroy your ideas about what a snowboard is capable of, and take you to the final frontier.

Board Type: All Mountain-Freeride
All Mountain snowboards are versatile boards that excel across various terrains, from groomed runs to off-piste. These boards offer solid edge control and responsiveness, making them a great option for riders who want one board to do just about everything.
Freeride snowboards are built for steeper, off-piste terrain. These boards are ideal for aggressive riding and usually for more advanced riders.
Flex: 6.5/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)
Offering a balanced blend of flexibility and stiffness, mid-flex boards are versatile and suitable for all-mountain riding. They provide enough responsiveness for carving while maintaining some forgiveness for playful or casual riding.
Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
Intermediate snowboards offer more responsiveness and stability at higher speeds, with a slightly stiffer flex for better control on varied terrain and more advanced manoeuvres.
Advanced snowboards are stiffer and more responsive, designed for high-speed control, precision riding, and handling challenging terrain or tricks.
Shape: Directional
A directional snowboard has a shape designed for riding primarily in one direction, with a longer nose and a shorter, more compact tail. This design provides better control, stability, and float in powder, making it ideal for freeride and all-mountain riding. It offers optimal performance when riding forward, with a focus on carving and downhill runs.
Camber Type: Resort V2 Directional + Flat Kick Tech

CAPiTA's Resort V2 Directional + Flat Kick Tech is a groundbreaking all-terrain shape offers the perfect balance of performance and versatility. A raised camber platform through the inserts ensures reliable edge hold at high speeds on variable terrain, while elevated contact points enhance float and stability in powder. Flat Kick tip and tail arcs enable quicker, more aggressive transitions for a dynamic ride.
Sidecut: New Age Progressive + Death Grip
CAPiTA's New Age Progressive + Death Grip sidecut delivers optimal control and performance. The Progressive sidecut blends two or more radii to accommodate the three stages of a turn, ensuring smooth initiation, enhanced control, and maximum power when exiting. Meanwhile, the Death Grip features a reverse sidecut arc in the board’s midsection, providing a contact point for pressure application and consistent control throughout the turn, making it ideal for both freestyle and freeride riding.
Width: Standard, Wide
Standard width boards deliver exceptional edge-to-edge quickness and responsiveness while providing enough platform space for riders with average boot sizes.
Wide boards are for those with large boot sizes and provide extra flotation, reduced drag, and never feel clunky or cumbersome underfoot.
Inserts: 2x4 Inserts
These offer a tighter hole pattern, allowing for more precise stance adjustments.
Board Construction

Topsheet: PLT Technology - Digital, Screen, and Gloss/Matte Print with Pearlescent Underlay
CAPiTA uses their exclusive PLT Technology which bonds the topsheet into the already pressed snowboard without having fiberglass structure to show through the topsheet. This creates a seamless connection and does not require an additional layer of lacquer to smooth out the top of the snowboard, saving on both using environmentally unfriendly materials and adding unnecessary weight to the snowboard.
CAPiTA creates their incredibly detailed and vibrant topsheet designs using a combination of digital and hand screen printing methods. Their PAM16000 Printing technology utilises 16,000 individual inkjet nozzles to produce flawless digital graphics with solventless, water-based UV ink—delivering exceptional accuracy, quality, and speed. Additionally, every CAPiTA topsheet includes a portion that is silkscreened through a hand screen printing process, adding unique texture and depth to the final design.
Laminate: Holysheet Tri/Bi and Magic Bean Resin with 4x25mm Caronflax Amplifier
The Holysheet fiberglass construction utilises fiberglass weaves designed for high tensile strength and low elasticity. By incorporating a greater roving count without increasing weight, this configuration enhances board strength and responsiveness. Many popular models are designed with tri-axial fiberglass layered above the core and bi-axial fiberglass underneath, resulting in a well-balanced ride that enhances both strength and durability.
The Magic Bean resin system, developed over three years, is plant-based with high bio-content, zero waste, and no greenhouse emissions. It requires low production temperatures while delivering high yield, strength, and durability. Its enhanced rigidity allows for a thinner wood core, reducing weight while increasing energy return for a lighter, more responsive board.
Carbonflax is an advanced composite material combining natural flax fibers with carbon strands, engineered for next level snowboard performance. This innovative blend harnesses carbon’s explosive responsiveness alongside flax’s lightweight feel and vibration absorption. With their complementary properties, these fibers create a durable, evenly flexing reinforcement that enhances both stability and energy transfer.
Core: Hover Core

CAPiTA's Hover Core is a high-performance premium core, made of alternating Paulownia and Poplar, that is ultra-light, strong, and offers exceptional dampening properties.
Base: Hyperdrive Base - Die-Cut and Sublimation
The Hyperdrive base is made with a premium sintered polyethylene material for the highest levels of anti-friction due to the high molecular mass of this base.
CAPiTA uses advanced laser-guided die-cutting technology to ensure razor-sharp edges and exceptionally bold, vibrant colors for their bases.
Sublimation is a fine-tuned process that brings graphics to life with bold, vibrant colors. By using heat and pressure, ink is embedded into the base material rather than just sitting on top, making the designs pop. Since the base is thicker and more opaque than topsheets, this technique enhances colour depth and clarity.
