The 2026 Jones Storm Chaser looks like it was made for Japan, but it's so much more than just a pretty face. Jeremy Jones, the owner and founder of Jones snowboards, says this is his favourite board in the range, not just for powder but also can be used for resort riding as well. As you can imagine, it performs incredibly well in powder, floating, surfing, speeding, and doing everything you want, but put it to work on the groomers and you'll find it carves and glides like you wouldn't expect. Surprisingly stable and fast while still being super nimble, the Storm Chaser is a board you're going to be seeing more and more of and is designed to float, carve, and at the bottom line, be a powerfully fun board.

Board Type: Powder
Powder snowboards are designed for deep snow. Generally these boards feature a directional shape with a tapered tail for better float and ease of riding.
Flex: 6/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)
Offering a balanced blend of flexibility and stiffness, mid-flex boards are versatile and suitable for all-mountain riding. They provide enough responsiveness for carving while maintaining some forgiveness for playful or casual riding.
Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
Intermediate snowboards offer more responsiveness and stability at higher speeds, with a slightly stiffer flex for better control on varied terrain and more advanced manoeuvres.
Advanced snowboards are stiffer and more responsive, designed for high-speed control, precision riding, and handling challenging terrain or tricks.
Shape: Tapered Directional with High 3D Contour Base
A tapered directional snowboard features a shape where the tail is narrower than the nose, providing enhanced control and stability in deeper snow. This design improves floatation in powder and allows for smoother turns, making it ideal for freeride and backcountry riding. While it excels in one direction, the taper helps the board naturally guide you through challenging conditions.
A freeride-driven 3D Contour Base with a 7mm spoon bevel in the nose and up to 7mm in the tail, starting just before the contact points.
Camber Type: Directional Camber/Rocker
Jones' Directional Camber/Rocker profile incorporates camber throughout the body of the board with rocker in the nose. This keeps the board nice and responsive and powerful while enhancing float and manoeuvrability in deep snow, perfect for freeriding or in powder.
Width: Standard
Standard width boards deliver exceptional edge-to-edge quickness and responsiveness while providing enough platform space for riders with average boot sizes.
Inserts: 2x4 Inserts
These offer a tighter hole pattern, allowing for more precise stance adjustments. They're common on modern boards and ideal for riders who want fine-tuned positioning and can be used with any binding with a standard or mini disk.

BComp Carbon Flax stringers deliver the ideal mix of power and control—carbon adds serious pop, while flax smooths out vibrations and keeps harmful emissions lower than full carbon designs.

Core: Boost Core
The Boost Core is made of responsibly harvested Bamboo, Paulownia, and Poplar. The Bamboo stringers are placed along the sidecut for durability, torsional stiffness, and response while the Paulownia and Poplar keeps the core light and damp.
Sidewall: Recycled ABS Sidewalls
Jones makes their sidewalls out of a recycled ABS material with a round finish. This increases durability by deflecting impact away from the sidewall preventing chipping and cracks.
Edge: Recycled Edges
Made of recycled German steel, these bombproof edges are made to be the strongest and longest lasting on the market.
Base: Sintered 8000 Base
A top-tier sintered base that’s incredibly fast, soaks up wax for lasting glide, easy to repair, and built for unmatched durability.

We are a local, independently owned store and do not offer ‘change of mind’ refunds for returned items (this includes incorrect sizing), however we're happy to offer you a store credit or exchange subject to the following conditions:
Store credits, lasting up to 3 years, will be issued for the amount paid at time of purchase for the particular item being returned. They are issued via email in which you'll receive a 16 digit code that you can use at checkout online or in store.
Unfortunately stock levels vary and we are not able to stock all products in all sizes, which may result in your desired exchange product or size not being available. In the event that your desired exchange product is not in stock, a store credit will be issued.
Should you not want a credit or exchange, in extenuating circumstances Melbourne Snowboard Centre may issue a refund minus a 20% restocking fee.
If your return is time sensitive, our regular returns policy applies and no refunds will be given if you purchase new items prior to returning original items.

When returning, please ensure you take care to protect the item and its original packaging. Damaged packaging or damaged products may result in a reduction in your credit, or a refusal of your return. Refused returns incur a minimum $10 return shipping fee (more for bulky items).

If you have received a faulty product or you feel the product you have been using is eligible for a warranty evaluation by the manufacturer due to defect in its materials or workmanship, contact us and we can walk you through the appropriate steps to lodge a warranty claim. If you have received a damaged product (eg. damaged in transit), please send photos and a description of the damage within 7 days of receipt to web@melbournesnowboard.com.au, along with your order number and contact details. Damaged product claims do not apply after the item has been used.
Our packages are discounted to help you get on snow at a reasonable price. Due to this, if you get the wrong size we are happy to offer an exchange in size of the same product, but we do not accept returns for individual package items. If you would like to return one or more items in a package but not all items, you must return the entire package and re-purchase the remaining item at its advertised price.
