The Burton Ripcord is the easiest-riding snowboard in the Burton mens lineup. Featuring a super soft flex, a progression-fuelling camber profile, and a convex base that basically eliminates edge catches, the Ripcord will have you on your feet and cruising long before the rest of the group.
Board Type: Beginner
Camber Type: Flat Top
Flat Top puts flat camber between your feet and rocker in the tip and tail. The flat provides more stability, pop, balance, and edge hold, while the rocker gives you stronger presses and that catch-free feeling that rocker is known for.
Flex: 2/10 (Soft)
Directional Flex - This board is constructed differently from nose to tail, putting more pop in the tail and strengthening the nose, allowing you to easily maintain control and charge through a variety of snow conditions.
Shape: Directional
This shape features a slightly longer nose than tail, which concentrates pop in the tail while providing extra float and control in any terrain.
Core:
FSC Certified Fly 900G - A classic lightweight wood core.
Squeezebox Low - A thicker and more powerful core section with thinner and more flexible sections in the tip and tail. This enhances energy transfer and makes the board snappier and more stable. The Low version of Squeezebox has an overall easier feel, with stiffer zones just outside your feet and a softer, smoother flex inside the bindings for more control and less effort.
Biax Glass - This biaxial fibreglass features a jib-friendly, torsionally soft flex that provides a softer, more forgiving, park-focused feel.
Base: Extruded
Speed, strength, and graphical pop in base that requires little maintenance.
Additional Features:
Pro Tip - A thinner tip and tail means reduced weight and swing when in the air, helping you to send it!
Super Sap Epoxy - Super Sap is a bio-based resin that reduces the carbon footprint by 50% over conventional petroleum-based epoxies.
Easy Bevel - This board features a convex base that helps eliminate edge catches for a super forgiving platform to learn on.
